Summer evenings are perfect for outdoor dinners and when the evenings aren't too hot, we like to do just that. If it's not dinner it's a cup of tea or coffee with some sweets. Yes, we enjoy coffee in the evenings and somehow manage to still sleep at night! Here's our patio that we like to spend time on and tips on how we created this space with things we already had.
We love bright colors, especially in the spring and summer, so we bring bold colors outdoors. Because we have little room, we are always thinking about ways to re-purpose furniture and decor items, depending on the occasion. We have wooden folding chairs on our patio so that if we ever have to move, and may have less room in our next apartment, we would be able to use them as needed and then fold them and put them away. We got all three chairs for $20.00, a total steal since they are made from sturdy wood and are in great condition.
Our table is just a simple four-legged white table, which our friends found at a thrift store for $5.00. We are always looking for a bargain and we feel lucky to be able to find used items in great condition that are inexpensive. The search is half the fun!
The table cloth is bright pink and floral, making it a lovely table cloth for spring and summer. Personally, we feel the table cloth is better suited for an outdoor environment but that's only because it clashes with our interior decor.
Our favorite decor items are plants. They are such an easy way to add color and freshness to any space. We love finding colorful pots for the plants and mixing and matching them creates a unique appeal. To spruce up the outdoor space, we will bring the indoor plants out onto the patio if we plan to entertain or we just want to have a nice dinner outdoors.
